I like being able to post the word "Japanese." Until Sachiko complained that she could post the word for her ancestors due to a partial-word restriction, we couldn't use the word without having it blocked out by the website filter. So here's to Sachiko and her hubby cr422. Hope you guys are enjoying Japan.
I miss seeing their posts. WTH.. no Internet in Japan? I figured we would have some good stories and possibly pictures to learn a little about Japan's lifestyle. I guess they cut the tie with the USA all the way.

For me its not just mayo either. I dont care for Dukes but i will use it if thats all that is offered. Hellmanns or Best Foods but that is what i grew up with. Kewpie has more of a tang to it than regular mayo. There are actually 2 versions of it, USA made without MSG and Japanese made with MSG. I get the imported version.

I use mayo as a base for some dipping sauces. Such as aioli, remoulade or spicy mayo. Sriracha mayo is great with some stuff like chicken strips. They sell something similar called Yum Yum sauce. Its sort of a Japanese steak house sauce. Very mild though (usually), almost no heat at all.

Forgot to add that I grew up with miracle whip so I prefer it but can get by with mayo. Still want to try that Japanese mayo though. Japanese. Are your ears burning Sachiko and cr422?

Just make sure to get the imported Kewpie in the red label squeeze bottle. The mild and 210 versions are similar but use whole eggs.
