I am a little late with this years Garden Thread.
I have been going to Community College full time, and with homework, I haven't had time.

Gardens went in relatively late this year due to massive amounts of Spring rain. I've been travelling so much that I don't plan to put in a garden this year. My wife may tend to a few individual plants like tomatoes, peppers, etc. but nothing big.

I did all my pruning way back and my blueberries, blackberries, muscadines, scuppernongs, etc. all look great. Put in one new blueberry bush for a total of eleven. When the younger bushes catch up to the two new ones we'll have enough berries for the county! The two older bushes produce over 15 gallons a year.

Also planted 3 new blueberry bushes at my best friend's house up the road, plus a couple of non-astrigent percimmons. My chestnut tree I planted a few years ago looks like it may start producing this year also. So, even though I'm not putting in a garden I should have plenty of harvesting to keep me busy!

I hear you rbduck, while it's warmer here than Manitoba, it still is going to freeze here tonight and tomorrow. I'm all tilled up also and planted spuds, onions, rutabaga, beets, turnips and a few other cold hardy things, the last average frost is end of May, so not long now till the rest goes in. The deer have been walking all threw the garden so i put up a makeshift scarecrow, yesterday.

Come on, We need some garden pictures.
My garden is just now starting to have seeds come up so no pictures yet.
There has to be someone with their garden that has pictures.

I don't know how to post pics. I could take some of loaded blueberry and blackberry bushes, and loads of teeny, tiny grapes on the vine.

Never saw a blackberry bush as full of fruit as mine is this year. It's only a few years old but seems to have finally matured and taken root--it's spreading also. Within a few more years I should have a fine blackberry hedge!

First year I can remember not having a garden

We bought a new place in sept, I think it's rained every day since

I finally got my garden prepared today, turned over raked, fertilized and preened ready to plant. I will plant right after Memorial day which is pretty much the custom where I live. I am glad I didn't have it in already, we had frost warnings last night.
