Default Just A Quick Rant

The test results from my MRI on my shoulder came back and my days hunting with a bow are through. If I get my Mathews sold I'll buy a crossbow and give it a try again, but tomorrow I am doing something I swore off back in 2007. I am taking my shotgun and slugs out to try and get some meat in the freezer. At least being in the middle of my 50 acres of timber with no one else supposed to be on the grounds, I should be halfway safe anyway because Southern Iowa gets crazy during shotgun season.

Can your shoulder handle switching sides and shooting left handed?

Good luck. Where there's a will there a way.

Bob - I am left handed and my right shoulder cannot take the pressure of holding the bow out when drawn.

AF, can you switch to right handed then? Put the pressure on your left shoulder?

AF...I'm a left too, but I shoot archery right-handed. Maybe it helps that I'm right-eye dominant, but lots of archers have leaned for fun or necessaity ro shoot off (wrong) handed.

If you can pull a bow with your right, you'll be in business in no time. Good luck and happy holidays.

PS..what'd you do in the AF? My dad is retired AF, I grew up around BUFFs.

Actually, with no cartilage left, even drawing back with right arm would be causing bone on bone action. I gun hunted yesterday and even just carrying it at port arms with the barrel in my right arm caused pain on the shoulder. Luckily I filled both tags in 30 seconds after walking for about 30 minutes and was done.

JoeA - I worked in intel

Sorry to hear that. That is a shame being forced to give up something you love doing.
