College football - targeting penalty

I get idea of wanting to make the game safer, but...the way this one gets called really makes me wonder. I heard on the radio that close to 30% of the flagged targeting calls this season have been over-ruled, but the 15yd part stays. Huh? What say you?

it's becoming silly

My opinion is pretty simple...If you want to play a contact sport, you should know you are taking personal risks. If you are afraid of getting hurt doing what you love to do, then maybe it is time to find something new. This is football, you run you get hit. Get over it...

Like a lot of new rules, they didn't think this one thru before implementing it. I think they will revisit the rule after the current season is over and take the 15 yard penalty away, after review. I have seen a couple of the enforced penalties and I don't see how they can call some of them penalties.
