We just called it a sitka. Anyway, my boys shot it and we ate it. LOL I saw one other in my 2 years. The first one walked into our 10 man ambush at first light. We were just fixing to gather our claymores and link back up with the rest of the platoon. He walked in, smelled us I figure and did an about face. No one fired a shot or touched off a claymore.... we were just kind of in a trance. It was really cool. I was probably 10 feet from him. The one in my picture is really big compared to the other one I saw. I mean his chest and all are so deep. We didn't have butter and all the right spices to do the meat justice.

Thanks for posting those. I can't imagine what it was really like there but seeing those pictures gives a glimpse into what you experienced.
