Default Thought you might enjoy

I don't know who is still around here, but I thought you guys might enjoy these pics. The bird was hit by a truck and the local police officer wasn't properly equipped to catch him. The eagle was unable to fly but ran just about as fast as we could. We were able to trap him under a sheet, and since I've worked with birds of prey before I drew the short straw and carried him back to the police car where he was ******ed to a rehabilitation facility. Last I checked he was still alive and doing alright -- broken wing and mild head trauma. He went fighting, he grabbed the tree in his talons and actually bit his rehabilitator in the arm as soon as he picked him up. Check out his tracking device that was attached to his back.

Happy 4th everyone.

Wow! That is very cool! It must have been exciting for you.. Up here we see them everyday just about. They fly around the river out across the street from my house commonly. They sure are one large bird tho..
