These are the types of birds that you kill because you are already where they want to go on their own, not because you lure them in to where you want them to be.
I agree

You kill these types of birds by being where they want to go, not by calling them in to you. Pattern him and spend time in those spots with VERY minimal calling and he should be yours.

I've attempted to post 3 times and it keeps telling me the post is deleted. Yet it shows my name as the last one posted.

I hunt this bird from first light , until noon , after about 8 he will shut up tho , and after about 45 minutes after his last gobble i will move spots and try to call him in again.... Later in the day sometimes a fast agressive cut will get him to gobble once maybe twice , seems after thehens go to nest.... but he will only gobble once or twice , to show me where he is it seems , then i close in , and sit call the rest of the day sporatically , somedays lesss , some days more , tryin to mix it up , but if i ever see him , its usually in the early morning , after he goes quiet and the day grows long , the bird gets hard to find ... Also the jakes seem to only gobble once or twice in the morning , i know they have to be jakes cuz they cant quiet get out a full bore gobble , and there seems to be like atleast 4 different birds gobbleing in the morning , unless the one is flying from tree to tree b4 light. but we have tried to setup in all he different spots he may go to , some being silent some calling , but he jsut seems to know when we go it and he will fly an ass backwards direction that he never goes any otehr day ... i cant figure him out!

Also i doubt neone messes with him b4 season , the birds seem to disappear once fall starts , and i might see them once in a great while during deer season , but come spring they r sighted all over the place , mostly on sunday , or when we r jsut taking a walk groudnhog hutning after legal shooting hours.....
