Rock and a hard place

OK,the PGC is now hurting for money. So if they would reduce the number of anterless tags that's even less revenue.
I think the DCNR ans some anti hunting groups are licking their chops waiting for this agency to fail so they can get another foot in the door.
So that brings me to my questions for you,
1-do you feel the number of doe tags in some WMU'S should be reduced?
2-if so how does the PGC recoop that loss?
3-would you accept a $10 license increase if anterless tags were drastically reduced in your area?

1 yes, in some, not all

2 raise fees some and look hard at raising the 1% limit on timber sales

3 raise doe license fees first. That way, the guys most utilizing the resource are the guys that pay more. I say that knowing full well that at 5-8 does per year, (all does from high DD areas) I'd be one paying lots more

We need a license increase no doubt about it. Bruce Smith even said that hunters better be prepared to pay when we shot down the DCNR merger proposal. Well Mr. Smith... we are waiting to pay. Bring it on!!!

I don't think they're gonna reduce doe tags by very much, if at all. Hunter license sales are dropping and so they may actually increase doe tags in some WMU's. Their reasoning is it takes more tags with less hunters to achieve doe numbers.

Guess I should answer my own questions.:D

1-yes in some
2-increase timber sales and license increase{sorry but it has to be done}
3-My area in 2g needs cut backs in anterless tags because their goal has been met.On the other hand there are other areas in the state that probably need more doe tags so that could offset some lost revenue.

1-Yes
2-Slap a $50.00 fine on hunters that don't send in their harvest report card.
3-No, Just raise the doe tags to $12.00

Cardeer you sound like a fellow stuck on public land.I know in some parts of the state hunting state land can take the wind right out of your sails.
Try to find some private land if you can, that's the only answer.
