HELP! Maine Grouse and Woodcock hunting
 

Looking for some help from the friendly folks in Maine. A group of 5 and our dogs will be making a trip to Maine this October to hunt Roughed Grouse and Woodcock. Any ideas on better areas in Maine than others. We are all experienced grouse hunters and have some ideas as to where we are thinking of going in Maine, but any inside scoop would be great! Thanks in advance!

There are lots of birds in northern and eastern Maine. I hunt here in Aroostook County and at my parents in Washington County. I find more woodcock in eastern Maine.

I saw a ton of birds durring a moose hunt in the moosehead area. We were hunting the GNW and staying at Pittston Farms.

Not having a dog I don't do much bird hunting but I saw as many birds there as I ever have anywhere in the state.
