Hunted with my friend Sammy tues/wed. He got a fat spike on tuesday, wednesday he got a doe....I saw 12 deer on Tuesday all too far, no deer seen by me on wednesday

Well I went out on Tuesday evening for a quick hunt with ML. MY new savage 10 ML-II. I love it. Well just before last legal shooting light a deer comes along and I let it rip. Its my first with a ML so I wasn't going to be picky. But when I walked up to it, It was a button buck so I do feel bad about that as I am usually letting little ones go but I thought it was a doe. Oh well I have some fresh meat for the freezer. I want to get one more doe for the freezer before the year is out. I am hunting in zone 21 off of rt 72. I have seen some nice deer in there some forks some small eights that I have passed this year but wouldn't you guess I get a button buck. Don't be hard on me as I have passed on many of button bucks but I blame the fading light On my mess up with thinking it was a doe. I hope to be out again before the end of ML season on the 7 th. Then its bow if my wife doen't kill me first.

My bro in law lives in little egg harbor by the Catholic school that sits a few blocks back from the Wawa on the main drag. He's been looking for a place to hunt down there. Any ideas ? Also was looking at a Savage ML II .....how do you like it so far ? using smokeless or BP sub ?

SLUGMAN YOU CAN NOT USE SMOKELESS POWDER TO HUNT IN NEW JERSEY YOU CAN USE BLACK POWDER SUB. LIKE TRIPLE 7 OR CLEAN SHOT ALSO PYRODEX BUT NO SMOKELESS ALSO I BELEIVE MOST SMOKE POLES IT IS NOT SAFE TO USE TOO MUCH PRESSURE IN THE CHAMBER.
