I chose to skip over many of the replies, but I will say from here in Maine that yes, they are around. And they have been for quite a while. And so have Lynx (which are now well-known), and wolves (the state still denies that), and wolverines (which are quite rare, but do exist). There are others as well, but I'll stop there.
