NY DMP's???

Who got their DMP's for the area that they wanted?????? My dad got his first DMP for 3R, but then got denied for 3H so he got a preference point for next year. Then we went back on November 1st looking to get more permits for 3R, where there always are leftovers, they werent giving any out!!! There were 32 deer killed in Rockland County last year, my dad killed 2 of them!!!! This program really stinks. instead of 3R he went for 3S ( Westchester)...... I better get my permits for where I want next year.... Anybody else have a problem with this.... I know this is kinda late but still.......

I go to Davis' all the time. I just hate having to go there because Wayne is so overpriced. But the only thing I do like about that place is that Wayne is down to earth and is there all the time and actually works there, even if he is the owner.

How about that Kodiak in the doorway when you first walk in? :D That's the last thing I want to see when I'm in Alaska.

such is life. you will have to get used to the fact that you aren't always going to get a doe permit. that's just the harsh reality of hunting in NY. take for example my area (7M) - they issued 0 permits this year. that's right, 0. i'm not going to tell you that i am thrilled, but there is nothing i can do about it. i happen to believe (unlike many) that the DEC does have a good idea/plan on what they are doing. the reason for no permits is the fact that the buck numbers are down in 7M more doe = more bucks born. permits in 7M fluctuate yearly (it is one of thebiggest DMU and heavily hunted) - sometimes they are plentiful and sometimes they are sparse. got to roll with the punches.

I also go to Davis all the time. I always have them work on my bow and they do a great job. I also didn't get any DMP's for my area, 4P. But there is nothing I can do about it now. Have any of you been to the new shooting range that Davis opened in Goshen? I used to be Knight's range. 100 yard indoor range. It's pretty good.

We went to that range a few weeks ago is nice to shoot inside only if & when the weather is poor, but I couldnt get comfortable, and with them looking over your shoulder I hate that, plus at $25 per hour thats alot....I would rather drive to the range I goto in PA, 300yards, targets are supplied, and its $10 shoot allday if you like...as far as archery gear I goto Targeteers in Saddle Brook NJ, and for Firearms I goto Lucianos in Lodi, NJ....Davis I use only for NY Tags, and if I need anything while there I may pick something up, and it maybe scent or hunting detergents

No I haven't been to the shooting range that they just opened. The place I do like over in Middletown is Gander Mountain. Now that place is the $h!t... LOL What did you guys think about the bear when you first walk in?
