use of tree stands in nj

this is going to be my first year out . i know you can hunt from the ground in bow season.
but what about firearm and ml season .looks like i'm going out alone (alleged hunting partner is now not concerned with hunting )so if i don't need a stand i'll put it off till next year if not guess i'll have to spend some $ i don't have to spend.

You can hunt from the ground there is no law that says you have to hunt from a stand.
Good luck

I always prefer a stand versus the ground due to visibilty and scent elimination. Some argue that it is safer on many ares as everyone is shooting towards the ground.

You can find ladder stands at Cabelas for under $60 and good hang ons with steps for under $50. Purchase a stand and you'll thank yourself later.

Where are you hunting Ultra? Get yourself a stand. It will increase your chances... I good first time set up as 88 said is a ladder stand. You can also get a hang on with a set of 16 ft ladder sticks. Check local stores first. Shipping is expensive on a heavy ladder. Make sure you LOCK IT UP. This is NJ..

Be safe and good luck.
