Okay, I will start this new part off. I would like to hear why you do or do not support Alt and his ideas. Here are my reasons.

I have an overall support for Alt. I thought about the antler restrictions and they will be a good idea. First off it will stop some of the crap shots people are cracking off now. People will have to make sure the buck has enough points and this will make the woods a much safer place. It will also help save SOME of the smaller bucks and any saving is better than no saving.
I really don't like the junior/senior muzzleloader/rifle season in early archery. I think that it makes archery hunting less enjoyable, but I will be able to live with it if it actually gets the buck to doe ratio down. When the buck to doe ratio is down, this will make it a little easier to rattle/grunt in bucks during the rut. There will be more competition and that will be a good thing for the archery hunters.

I don't like the idea for crossbows because I believe that it will have some rifle hunters comming into archery without a SOLID knowledge of how to archery hunt. Archery hunting and Rifle hunting are, for the most part, completely different. If there was a mandatory seperate course for just crossbows, I would be more willing to accept it.

I am still about 50/50 on the changing of the hunters education program. I really like the idea of a hands on experience, but doing the program over the internet would probablly bring more youth/adults into the sport. Some youth have parents that work and can't take them to the safey course, they could then do it over the internet. Also, adults who work alot could do it over the internet too. That would bring more people in and we need all the hunters we can to help ward off the anti's.

I would REALLY REALLY like to see check stations/smaller management units and a a male/female tag.

Overall, I believe that the management will be better for our herd. One thing is that the PGC should set up the smaller management units before knocking the deer herd in half. There are SOME areas in Pennsylvania where there are too few deer for the area, smaller management units would help these places be more balanced. Let me hear what you guys think about this.

Good Luck This Season: Buck Magnet
