50. cal Knight MK-85 for Black Bear in NY!!??
 

Thought i was going rifle season but the dates say its muzzle loader...
suggestions on load/bullet and anything else appreciated!!
Im from Nj ,bowhunting in Utica then heading North for bear a few days,mid oct,anyone wanna go??

Go with a heavy round, aim just behind the shoulder on a quartering away. .50cal will do the trick. I hunted with my .54cal last year.. I GOT ME A BEAR.

i hunt whitetail in utica and plan on going north thru old forge and then onto state land beyond there,not sure exactly where yet

BLCK POWDER I WOULD USE 100GR AND 405 POWERBELTS. WATCH A GUY ON TV THIS MORNING DROP A 1500LBS BUFFALO IN ITS TRACKS AT137 YARDS WITH THIS SETUP!!!

mystic,i hunt near flemington,cherryville area
thanks for the offer on the hunt but prob cant make it
think ill be camping with my kids that weekend
were u hunting over bait for ur bear?no baiting in ny
basically just try to find good food area and hope for the best,deer season also open for m/l at same time

Deer season muzzleloader runs at the same time as black bear in the adirondacks as does archery.Still looking for 1-2 hunters possibly interested in planning a 3-4 day hunt in the north woods and maybe some whitetail hunting in the southern zone near Utica where i have a camp
