Looking for Potential members.......
All
I belong to a hunting club in southern NJ, and we are seeking potential members. Let me give a brief background first.....This is a father & son type of club (no weekend warriors wanted). The club is located off of exit 67 on the G.S.P. and all of our hunting is done on state lands. We do drives in the morning and pot hunt in the afternoons. The club owns a clubhouse equiped with beds, baths, kitchen etc..... Members have access to the club all year long and can use it for any season they like (turkey deer etc...). Dues are $200-$250 a year. Member ages currently range from 31 to 60 something.... Reason we are looking for members is due to dwindling numbers (recent deaths, people moving away etc...). Currently 10 men in the club, possibly looking for 5-6 more members. Contact me if interested. Can discuss further.... Catskillhuntr (Mike) [email protected] |

The name of the club is "Raritan Bay Rod & Gun Club"
last year was my first with the club. They did drives in the morning of the first 2 days of gun season, and the rest of the days and afternoon hunts were pot/stand hunting. |
RE: Looking for Potential members.......
sounds nice, but can i ask something of anyone?? most clubs consist on private areas and the guys plant stuff and hang stands and take care of the place and this and that??
why would someone want to join a club to hunt land that they can hunt anytime. i could be int he woods the morning of the "drive" and benefit from it. food??? there are more super markets in NJ than anywhere i have ever been. $3.99 for a rot. chicken, right?? you may want to rethink the processes and structure of your club. hey, that could be the reason u r here soliciting for membership. good luck |
RE: Looking for Potential members.......
No Lemond.......we are looking for members because 2 died this past year, and 2 of the other guys are all over 60. Everyone else is in their 40's
good enough anser for you???????? spend 3 nights in a hotel and buy food for 3 days...it'll run you 200-300 bucks easy.... our club is $200 for the entire year. so go ahead (lemonhead) and hunt wherever else you would like |
RE: Looking for Potential members.......

You have to pay for taxes, utilities, upkeep and food. It sucks having to get up extra-early and drive a distance with all your hunting gear, then find somewhere to park on public land in deer season. I think it's worth the money to be able to wake up, get something to eat, grab your gun and walk out the back door. Same thing at the end of the day. You're tired and you don't feel like driving home. Just walk back to the cabin, take your boots off, grab a beer (or soda or coffee etc.) and sit by the fireplace. It's also nice to be able to hang out with your hunting buddies and recount tales of the hunt in a cozy cabin. That beats everyone driving to their separate houses. I love deer camp just as much as the hunt itself. It's a great tradition and it's all about family and friends, too.

I have a friend who used to stay at a hotel for a few days and have to drive for about an hour in the early morning before light to get to where he hunted. It is definitely worth $200 or so to spend unlimited nights in the place, and be close to where you hunt and have comraderey with others, benefit from the drives, etc.

If I were still living in NJ I'd be interested in signing up. I was just back there in Old Bridge visiting family last week. ;)
My wife and I have been discussing moving to back to NJ but the cost of living is much much higher. |
RE: Looking for Potential members.......
I might be interested in joining. I live in northern new york. Is the 250 for dad and son or just for one. Also what zone are you in.
