I'm not sure what you call reasonable price but a Maryland NR license would be $101 your best place to get a bird would be at Green Ridge in western Md.

I've hunted green ridge before and there was to much hunting pressure. Now i hunt turkeys on the eastern shore of Md Pokamoke State Forest. Lots of birds and little hunting pressure. Me and my buddy doubled up on 2 nice Longbeards there last spring. I also like the idea that the land is flat and easy to walk around on and there are some swamps for those ol longbeards to grow old in...

pallof, I would suggest checking out various fish and game web-sites. You could get a lot of information pertaining to Turkey hunting, the 2002 forecast, license prices etc....Good Luck!

New Hampshire is 100.50 for a non-resident license and turkey tag. I think vermont is about the same. Both have good turkey populations but vermont has a lot of posted land.

I have just moved to Lexington MA from the West Coast, but was thinking of getting a NH licence (MA seems to suck for gun owners and hunters from what I can tell so far). Where are the good Turkey and other good general hunting areas in NH. Are any in the south part of the state nearer to me?

Thanks for any advice.

Western Maryland is great for turkeys! Weve got a great number of em, see em all the time. A real quiet not so well known area for turkeys in Maryland is on the Eastern SHore, especailly in Dorchester Co! I went on a Sika Deer hunt there, and was floored by size and numbers of gobblers! I saw more turkeys then I did deer! It will definetly be a turkey hotspot to come!

Like Janc said, the turkey population is really doing well here in Maine. A good location is in the Scaborough area. And up North has a lot too. I was looking forward to turkey hunting untill I found out that I didn't get picked for it!<img src=icon_smile_angry.gif border=0 align=middle>! Good luck!
