Todd. I'm going to tell you something here."You Got Robbed!!" From what you've said there's NO excuse for his reason, or his charge of $400. If you were just having a chest, wing, head, and beard deal done. I can't believe that guy was going to charge you $400 for that. Plus I don't see how thats something so difficult to do. The heads are either artificial or freeze dried originals. Not sure how you had wanted the wings, spread out I'd guess.
I do taxidermy myself. I attended college at Finger Lakes, and took the extra courses in taxidermy. Thats how I got started in it. I recall taking a field trip to Clingermans Taxidermy in North Rose. He was real nice, and I liked his work. That was quite a few yrs ago, and last I heard he was still in business. May want to check him out. Or just wait on your next killed bird, seeing that ones NOT yours!

Todd,a brief side note,I also attended Finger lakes CC for Taxidermy,it is alot of hard work and I don't think people fully appreciate what a good taxidermist has into a mount(work and time)that said I would put Greggs work up against anyones!I know what I'm looking at when I study a mount. There are some high $$$ taxidermists in the area and Greggs work is as good as or better, without the bad adittude and 2 years or longer wait. You guys from the Rochester area know the guys I,m talking about.Gregg is the only taxidermist I can call and is consistently at his shop getting his work out.Todd for $400 you could have had a full struting mount!Good luck

Todd, Call Bill Yox, he is one of the best in the nation and highly respected. Best part, he is only in Brockport. I can get you his number if you want to speak to him. I do not know if he does turkeys but it is worth the call. At the very least, he can point you in the right direction. TGK

If you are familiar with Beikirch's ammunition, talk to Jimmy Gall. He is a bird mounting master. He did my last double bearded bird and it is the best in my collection of 6 turkeys. Clingerman's did the rest and I am happy with those. Earlier work was better. Jimmy is the king!
