Turkey Population

I live in Cattaraugus Cnty NY and this Spring I've been seeing several large Toms and very few hens. The other day I had 5 longbeards walk across the front lawn. I've been hearing tons of gobbling since Feb 15. I see birds almost every day and every bird was a Tom. I did see 1 hen 1 time. I'm curious, are others noticing the same situation with tons of Toms and very few hens? This may only be a local situation but I was wondering if others seen the same observation in their area. May 1st can not come soon enough. Take care everyone.

Here in central Ny I've seen just the opposite. Hens, and some jakes. I have yet to see a adult tom this winter. But at least I'm seeing turkeys around. Got like 20 hanging around my house.

Here in South Jersey its been the opposite. My fathers been scouting twice a week the last 2 weeks and seen nothing but hens. Yesterday I was driving through alloway and drove past a field with about 15 turkeys in it, all hens.

Western PA. We have boatloads of turks, both hens and gobblers. Saw 3 longbeards feeding in someones yard yesterday afternoon. Generally though in recent years we've had way more hens.

Everyone, thank you for your input. I'm beginning to see numerous hens. They must've stayed over the hill from my place the last 3 months.
