yeah ive been to the above mentioned place to, never again. ! they parade the animals up against a fence past your position , they claim a lot more land then you acctually hunt on ! absolutally disgusting

Checked out the new place I metioned above,I guess this kind of"hunting"doen't do it for me.If you want to kill an animal in a relativly small area,were the animal can't elude the hunter,nor do they know any better to even try,then go on one of these kinds of hunts,they are basically all the same,a farm for killing with out fair chase.Some day I will harvest a wild boar,and I mean wild in the south or maybe california,where they have a free ranging native population.[:'(]

It's called the pig farm,and it's fitting cause it's like hunting in a farmers pig pen.

also i was told that there are very few pure strain russian blue boars in the states. there is a place up in new york that touts having the real deal. cant remember the name but there always at the shows. i would love some day to go to florida or texas and hunt the wild pigs.

Whew... Thanks guys... I was going to check out two of the places that were mentioned here... Just to get some extra hunting in but if it's anything like you guys mention it's not even worth my time checking into them..
Guess what they advertise at the Outdoor shows isn't really what they provide...

That kind of hunting just never had any appeal to me. On the other hand, several years back, a buddy talked me into one of those bowhunter jamborees at High Ridge in Hooversville. Everyone pays about half what youd pay for a boar hunt, you draw for your spot and must stay within 10 yards of it. They have a variety of critters, boar, rams, fallow deer, ibex, nilgai, I even heard they had an ostrich once. They have 60% animals to hunters. Everyone must wait for the signal before shooting anything and then they have guys putting on drives.

It's NOT fair chase but it can be fun. Their is an element of chance because there are more hunters than animals. You also never know whats going to come by. Shot a boar that way and some fallow deer. There aint any better eatin than a fallow deer!! We used to get there Friday night, camp out,grill some venison backstraps, down a few barley pops then get up and "hunt" Saturday and head home. The campout was as much fun as the "hunt"

Not your quality wilderness experience but it was a fun way to spend the weekend in the off season.
