Slugman,

I'm not really familiar with the 440, but Pearson has a good reputation, so I'm sure it is a fine bow. The main thing with archery is to find something that fits you, feels comfortable and you are confident with. A certain bow may work for one person, but not the next. To be honest, there really aren't many bad bows out on the market these days, it's just a matter of finding something that works for you. Some guys like certain brand bows because the grip is thinner,
but this may not work for other guys. The main thing is to go to a good shop (or even better, as many shops as possible) and testing out as many bows as possible. Don't worry about brand name or price, just worry about what feels right. I would also reccomend going to a shop for your first bow because they can measure your draw length and explain some of the things to look for in a bow (like brace height, poundage, ect)

Best of luck to you.

I did post in the archery forum , but for some reason you have to have an archery related login name for them to reply. Guess they dont take to firearm hunters.
