First deer with new slug gun
 

Bought a New England Arms ultra slug hunter about a week ago, put on a Nikon Prostaff 2-7x32mm scope and sighted in last sunday morning. took it out today for the first time. was sitting for about 1-2 hours without seeing anything when a Doe came through a hedgerow about 100yds out in the field i was hunting. I have a permit to take Does and figured it was at the far end of my range and wasn't going to get any closer. i luckily had a nice branch by my ladder stand to use as a rest. i left fly and the doe hopped, ran about 10ft and dropped dead. put the slug right in the boilerroom!!! love this new slug gun!!! i used to shoot #000 Buckshot and never would have attempted a shot that far using busckshot.

Congrats savageshot. I'm thinking 'bout buying a slug gun myself for those 100 yard shots. I see ya live in Hopewell. Used to live not far from you in Stockton for 40 years. Some great hunting around your area.
