i also had a tough 2 days hunting....i hunted the NW though....venango county....monday got colder by the minute.....and winds howled and the gusts were horrible.....i bet a few broke 50mph easy...at times i found my self ducking to cover my head and rifle in fear the trees around me were coming down on me....i heard them crack a few to many times.....and at times it was near white out conditions with the snow....and a group of inconsiderate hunters screwd us badly.....me and dad sat about 60yds apart or so....in the previous 3 times we hunted that area it was nothing to see a ton of deer.....i averaged it and its something like 6 deer an hour....pretty dang good.....but average in mon and tues and its like .5 deer an hour.....them guys messed us up bad....they busted through between us talked to my dad trying to get us to leave saying its their spot....we fixed my dads spot up 3 years ago to the day....its not their spot at all.....so they got mad when my dad told them too bad(state game lands) so they marched all around and sat down on a ridge to my right...where most of our deer usually come from.....they moved around all day....so loud i could hear them snaping sticks and talking ect.....i heard tons of deer busting htem and the wind was in our favor!! i was waiting for a good buck...dad took a doe about 830 or 9 or so...i let them pass to him even though i didnt have a shot except at the one he shot and i thought about taking it but passed hopeing a buck was behind them......1045 a big deer ran straight at me.....i had enough...i wasnt going home skunked because a bunch of inconsiderate guys ruined our spot.....i was taking it.....i ended up with a nice doe....hunted till 1 then went back to camp then hunted from like 2 till dark.....nothing.....nothing seen tuesday....weather kept the deer beded....going back up tomarow morning....i hope they are moving a little better.....it was a sad first 2 days.....this year the figures will be low and i wont be surprised.....not one bit....then the guys will say they fixed them blah blah blah jsut so we kill all the deer ect ect again....i know the deer are still out there....the gamelands i hunt is 10500sq acres....most of my area is all thicket....we depend on guys to kick them around....just didnt happen mon or tuesday.....also noticed a lack of hunters....the very few back there with us screwd us....oh well i had fun and am glad i got what i got.....ill see how tomarow goes....good luck guys....season aint over yet....
