Rut in MD ?
 
Hi,
Any news of the rut in MD, exspecially around Dorchester ?

Welcome aboard. I think it has run it' s course for the most part but you should see some slight rut activity in another 20-25 days as the unbread does come in again.

I agree with mdbohuntr that most of the does have been bred, the first 2 weeks in Nov are the best time to be in the woods. But there is still some chasing going on here in southern MD. And all of the does that dont get bred the first rut will go into heat again about 28 days later. Also some fawn does that are in areas of good feed will also go into heat later.

But these second ruts are never as intense as the first one.

Around here, I' m still seeing bucks with does everyday. And the orphaned fawns were all over me this morning.

Tagged my 8 point buck last saturday while he was chasing a doe. Havent been out since then.
