Anyone know of places to hunt deer in Salem County ? Just moved to NJ about 6mos ago and dont knwo the area very well.

There' s good hunting in Salem county, despite what the locals may lead you to believe. ;)
I know two guys who kill one or more nice bucks off of the public land down there every single year, usually a couple for each of them.
Here' s some public land, I believe zone 28, but I' m not sure.

Union lake WMA
Elmer lake WMA
Salem River WMA
Thunder gut pond WMA

thanks ...where do you get the ML permits from for each zone ....at a license agent or the state ?

slugman.....most off the state ground in salem co. is in zone 29,, hunted here all my life,, e-mail me and i' l tell ya the good spots

I hunt in salem county off of rt 40 and buck rd.(TRESPASSERS PAY SERIOUS PRICE). I see deer almost everytime out. There is state ground about 5 miles down the road behind elmer lake I believe its Dutch Row Rd. Not very many guys hunt back there and there is alot of quality deer also. Alloway is another place I recomend if your planning on hunting state land. Biggest deer in SJ come out of Alloway.
