Lemond where is it , yesterday I was coming south on 896 out of Middletown by the state highway yard and a doe was standing alongside the old deer check station waiting to jump a white board fence, right at the ckeck station, Apparently she read that sign and decided to get out of there. I kept looking in my mirror and it never jumped the fence before I was out of sight.

this was in Pa...i live in king of prussia, but i hunt de around my mother' s property in the dutch neck farms area. this buck was huge and i cannot believe how they are traveling, but that is what happens when the BURBs and wildlife collide.

In NJ, I have seen nice bucks in the median on the Garden State Pkwy and Palisades Pkwy but I do not know if its legal to hunt them--probably not. If you hunt w/the bow--then maybe you can give it a go. Good luck.

i have a trail cam in there..i hope it is still there 2 day when i move it or take it out. the deer are getting there through a creek and under 2 roads. they are walking through those BIG tubes that the creek runs under the raod. the tubes like on a hamster cage. i have never seen this, but i tell u it is unique. i took pics and i want to post them. they are 2 large.

i know what i' d do, i would have a stand on the side away from the median, right near the end of the tube. depending upon how deep the water is, it might get to take two steps before it felt a huge pain in it' s side, lol. hammer it, i would.

Make sure when you post there the wind doesn' t carry you scent threw the tunnel to it. If you could see him coming threw the tunnel you can see which one he enters and then just slip into the other one and arrow him at 6 feet when he exits right next to you.:D;)

lemond33,

as soon as i read your subject line, i had a feeling i knew what you are talking about. not just what your talking about, but WHERE your talking about. i was on my way to downingtown last saturday, as i was exiting the " you know what" , i saw one, might not be the one you saw or in the place that your talking about, but this thing was massive. i almost swirved off the road. i got the shakes just looking at him. i have been looking at maps and arial photos, there should be some places to get in. im sure going to try. also, the same night i was en route back to my friends house in that same area, i was driving behind vangaurd and passed another, what seemd like, at least a 10 point. i came back to that area the next morning to see if there was any well covered wooded lots to sneak into, it looked promising. maybe we should try a joint effort with this idea.

i have seen deer do the tunnel thing a few times ,they use the tunnels around the nj turnpike and rt 295 ,i saw one of my biggest bucks ever in nj 2 years ago on a feb eve and he still had horns probally a 140 class or better ,not sure if the same one or not but my couisn works for the tp and got a road kill 2 months later a huge male no hornes ,they estimated 175lbs. just becareful hunting those areas ,soem are state dot property and most dont let hunting ,they say it could be a saftey issue with a injured deer running onto road, good luck and show the pics allreaddy

u are right about shooting a deer and it running on the road. the one thing that i noticed when i jumped the deer this weekend was that they headed to the creek bottom where the tunnel(tube) was. they went to the right side...where the trail is most pronounced. i was shocked to see them run right for it....like a ground hog to the hole...

i have thought about my setup:

mathews blk mx
68lb
muzzy 90gr
acc' s
i was thinking that if i got in there using some rockets that i have tthat open to 1 3/4in....wow. mayb even going to 100gr muzzys. setting up over the tub and capping off on an entrance or exit. i probably will not do it. who knows

funny vermont:) there were does in there this morning grazing around and another hit at the on ramp as i went to work. i am telling u, that would be something to shoot a brute as he exited a hamster tube....that would have to be a magazine story:)
