The elusive bobcat

Seeing bobcats is a fun experience. They're pure predator. My first one came to the gut pile of my first deer, a little PA 4 point. I'd shot the little buck and dad helped me gut him. Dad moved to my spot then and we both sat watching for the rest of the morning. The bobcat came in to the gut pile for an easy snack.

I got to watch one for about ten minutes one bow season as well. It crossed a creek over a log and then sat up on the high side of the roots watching the ground below it. Certainly a cool experience!

I used to see them often here then it seemed like they just went MIA< haven't seen one now in a few yrs now<
still same food and cover(even more food plots to be honest)
but coyote numbers have gone way up, so maybe they moved on due to too much competition??

but they are cool critters to see and watch

My first and only experience with a bobcat was calling coyotes back when I lived in Michigan. I don't think he even knew we where there until he passed downwind of us, then he took off like a lightning bolt

I have seen a number of them over the years and got a few on camera. Always a treat to see as they are so elusive.
