Default Not only PA deer season

Here is a cut and past from the results of the PGC meeting earlier this month:
A statewide muzzleloader and special firearms season was added for bear hunters in October. The muzzleloader season runs from Oct. 19-26, while the early firearms season, which mirrors the one in place for deer and is open to junior, senior, mentored youth, disabled and active military, will be held from Oct. 24-26. Also, the archery bear season was increased to two weeks (Oct. 28-Nov. 9) and the extended bear season, which occurs during the first week of deer season, was expanded from four to six days in most Wildlife Management Units. The statewide bear season will remain at four days (Nov. 23-27).

they must really want to knock down the bear population I guess?

I know I have a very healthy population here, and most hunters don't seem to hunt the regular rifle bear season, I do think this will open the door to a LOT more bear hunting/hunters being successful!
in some places I bet a good thing, others maybe hard on the population!
as a lot of standing crops will be up yet and that should make for easier hunting(not EASY by any means, just easier than a late nov hunt)

Jake yes it does. MRBB from what the report says they want to try and reduce the population by 25% and would like a total harvest of 4000-5000 animals.

Being retired that is going to put me in a pretty good position to spend a lot of time trying myself to put a tag on one!
