New York deer

Does anybody hunt in Allegheny State Park? I' m from Pa. and can' t wait for the N.Y. shotgun season to open on Nov.17. My brother-in-law was up scouting last weekend and reported little deer sign. Any info concerning the park deer situation, or even in general in that part of New York concerning if the winter put a hit on the deer pop. would be appreciated. Even if the herd is down you still can' t beat spending all day in the woods and then back to camp for food, drink, cards, and of course bull**** stories. Good luck to all.

According to the higherups the population took a hit from last winter. I have not seen many deer near me, but I live in a harder spot anyway. I' m not sure how the southern part of the state is doing maybe someone else could give you more help.
