A hunter can use any primitive weapon during regular season if they choose...I freq. use a muzzleloader during regular season. I don't see why a youth bow hunter wouldn't be allowed to hunt during regular season with a bow....unless the junior license is specified for a certain time period....that I don't know.

During what season? I don't think that a person with a gun (hunting small game or turkeys) is supposed to actively push animals to someone hunting with a bow during bow season. I do believe you still need the proper license, too. For example, I cannot hunt with a bow or muzzleloader in rifle season without a bow and/or muzzle license. And, you have to use the appropriate season's tag - if you kill a deer with a bow in rifle season, you need to use your rifle tag for that deer (that's why you have to mark what you use to take the deer). Not 100% sure, but I think that is the way it's supposed to be.

I think I was right in my explanation. I checked the regs. Bow/Muzzle tags only valid in those designated seasons. Rifle tag can be used in late bow/muzzle as long as you have that privilege. And, it is unlawful to, "Possess a firearm of any description when bowhunting or when accompanying a person bowhunting during special archery seasons."
