Delaware Archery Season (Nov)
Well, here we are. The 1st week of Nov and we get hit with above average Temps. Not suppose to get back cooler weather until Friday. Looks like I will not be taking any time off this week for deer hunting. I' ll save it until next week do a couple all day hunts before Shotgun Season.
I went out Saturday in the morning. But, the duck hunters at the farm next store were back. I was already in the woods when they arrived and boy did they make alot of noise. The guys yelling at his dog, his kid, dropping sh@t all over. I knew I was doomed. Pulled out around 9am and went to the other side of the farm and built a couple ground blinds. This way, I have a couple more options next saturday.
Well, keep the reports coming. Only 11 more days until the pumpkin bragade starts pounding the deer, so get em before then. After that, it really gets hard.

It was warm today. I rescheduled my Vacation to hunt next Monday and Wed. Planning to hunt all day, everyday I can before Shotgun season. Obsessed, probably. But even if I dont get a deer, its all good.... [:-]

I have not seen any rutting activity yet but Im sure that will change after this weekend when the temps fall. As for hunting the marshes and meadows, I hunt right along the edges. That the primary bedding areas where I hunt. I try and cut them off on the way back from the fields in the morning and Im right there at night waiting for them to come out. Saturday, I' ll try some rattling and grunting if I dont see anything by 10am. Maybe I can get one curious enough to come out and take a look, we' ll have to see.
In the afternoon, my dad and I are heading to the leased place. I' ll FINALLY have a Northerly wind so I can hunt my stand. I built ground blinds last week in an area that hasnt been hunted yet. Putting the old man in one of those. Hopefully i can get him a shot before the guns start blasting 11/14.
Good Luck Saturday for everyone heading out. Should be a good day! [:-]

Heading out this afternoon to a spot that I scouted last week. Found 5 scrapes on the edge of the woods that borders a bean field (beans are still standing) and some rubs inside of the woods. Public land near Blackiston that NEVER gets bowhunted. This NW wind and cold front is just what i' ve been waiting for I' ll have my grunt call, doe bleat can and tinks with me. Hunting hard till Thursday before the army invades the woods

a good night, but no backstraps. i played around with my son and then decided to hunt far away on a tract here. i wasnt 150yds from the parking area when i took notice to a cut-through in some corn. people werent using it, deer were. i walked through and set up with 2 trails out in front of me and more to the side. at 4:55 the plump-est doe i have ever seen came through....she turned the corner with her nose on the scent trail i had laid...MRS DOE PISS she looked around and then took a few steps forward...she saw the T2(ground blind by double bull)....if i didnt have, " there is a buck trailing' on my mnd i would have toasted her at 35-40yds. she was looking right at me...i thought she saw me in it....that would have been a first. she turned and then came to my left into the corn....not really scared, just a little worried. she never ran or stomped....well...the buck never came, but i thought he was. mayb monday night on the way out, there were deer everywhere. jumping across me and such. this area is hot for the rut. i rattled and grunted....nothiinng....that should change by tuesday.
good luck
