Previous years I thought the drawing was in early september. I may be wrong about that though.

Same here - I've been trying since it started and have yet to draw.

How many points does that give you Bronko? I've only applied the last two years. So I have 2 points. I figure I started applying in my early 20's, I should be able to get a PA elk sometime before I'm gone! Hopefully anyway.

Hang in there..I had 11 preference points going into this yrs drawing, and still didn't get picked. I figure that now gives me 12 points for next year.. If I don't get picked soon, I'm gonna be too darn old to go!!

When I found out what it was going to cost me, if I WAS picked in the Moose drawing in Maine last year, (I know we're talking "Elk" here, but this is relevant) I was GLAD I didn't get chosen.

It was something in the neighborhood of $500.00 + !!!!!!!

A resident elk lisence in only $25.What else will it cost you other than gas and maybe a camp ground site? There no real need to get a guide.

Yep, PA is a good deal if you eventually get drawn. I could have $500 in application fees by the time I get drawn though! But $10 a year isn't too painful haha

I live on the edge of the elk range and I've never applied.Depending on the unit,it can be a good hunt though. If you get drawn, you have a pretty good chance on a diy hunt and it wouldn't cost much.Draw a tag and I'll gladly haul some horses up and pack it out for free.
