This is the first year in the past 7 years that I haven't put my tag on a good buck during archery season. And that is only because I was teaching a newbie (daughter-in-law). I could have take a nice 8 pt the first Monday but wanted her to shoot and we got busted when she drew back. All my buck were taken on public land.
As for Monday - I already took the '06 out of the gun safe, dusted it off, and made sure it was sighted in.
The only thing I am not looking forward to is exposing these old bones to the chill of December. I much rather prefer the October sunshine than that...lol.

Went back 3.5 miles on public land to an area that I have hunted for 15 years. Saw 3 does. The parking lot that used to have over 100 cars in it on day 1 had 30 when we got out in the late afternoon.

I heard a maximum of 8 shots that were on the huge mountain range 3+ miles from the road all the way in.

3 of us hunted spread out in historically great areas and I was the only 1 that saw any deer.

I have gotten a doe tag for the past 10 years only to make sure that at least 1 tag was taken out of my WMU and not used.

I would never shoot a doe up there now. It might just turn out to be the last one.

Trail camera's beef up my story.

We will look back on Alt like we will look back on windmills and solar panels. Dead wrong and a colossal mistake.

Give the guy a break....what he's saying is mostly true. Public land hunting in PA sucks, and if it was my only option, I'd either quit or move somewhere else. Will, if you're serious about your offer, send me a PM, I'm in 5C, and I won't charge you much.

tundra, don't forget the AR part too. haven't seen a legal buck since they started it. also too much posted land now. hard to find places to hunt. leasing took care of that.
