Good luck to you. I am sure you will be successful. I have lived on the border of NH all my life,Vermont. Nice country and the moose population is growing strong here in Vermont as well. I was wondering if you could pop a bear if one appears, there in season now. Anyway, good hunting and stay safe.

We had quite an adventure trying to get him out of the woods. The first guy about killed himself trying to use a chainsaw winch. It let loose and flew 100'. Luckily my sub-permitee hurricane1 Jay was an EMT and took care of the operator until he could get him to hospital. After that we called the logger who saved the day with his skidder.

It was a rough hunt. Moose population way down due to ticks. However, I am thrilled to come out of it all with a great trophy shoulder mount to remember it by. This was a once-in-a-lifetime deal for me. I'm not going to bother trying to get back in the NH lottery with zero bonus points. There are so many points ahead of me the odds don't justify the investment. I will continue in Maine though and should someday draw there. Got 14 points.

Default Moose Mount

Took my guy a year, but finally picked up my completed mount today. Not on the wall yet though. Back is still sore from a 1/4 mile swamp doe drag yesterday. Just say no to liver shots!

Default Bell

Anyone ever see a mature bull with no neck bell? I've not seen any like this in the photos I've seen online.

Jay, I am really happy with it bell or no bell. The paddles are so much more than I'd hoped for. Cool nontypical brow tines. Great dark color. My best trophy - any species. My taxidermist talked about the color too. He had a moose in prior to mine that was taken just out of velvet and had a white rack. The hunter had him stain it!

Finally got him up on the wall. I think he will be my best trophy and the centerpiece of a proper game room soon.

Check this out. NH still issues the old school metal check station tags. I saved mine. It's stamped 2012 NH Moose #073. I thought this was really cool.

Anybody know of any other states that still issue these?
