Last time I checked it was still 12 noon as the official start. They only changed it that one year. I would ask you folks that are " in the know" to tell me why they have it at 12 noon instead of like how the rest of the seasons start. Is it a propagation issue or something else?

PA,I believe there were alot of complaints from the early season goose hunters when the dove season hours were in the early a.m. so the PGC pushed it back to 12 noon again.Since the early goose is a resident goose management season, the PGC gives that top priority.

Pennsylvania Game Commission Executive Director Vern Ross today reminded dove hunters that shooting hours for the early season will return to the traditional noon starting time.

" To expand dove hunting opportunities, it was decided to begin early season shooting hours a half-hour before sunrise last year," said Ross. " That decision was part of a new triple-split dove season. We found that in a few instances, early morning dove hunters were interfering with early season goose hunters. To avoid any conflict, we’ve returned to the traditional noon starting time for dove hunting in the early portion of the three-split dove seasons."
