Steuben County deer #,s down ???
 

I hunt in Steuben County NY .
I,m up near the Howard wind project .
Opener for rifle only a few weeks away now .
Was told by the Motel owner that the deer numbers seemed down this year . Not many deer seen hit by vehicles on the road sides or many lucky enough to fill there tag .
Said they recieved a little wet snow but it didnt stay long .
Anyone from the area that can verify the deer numbers ?
Was told the last 2 that would make 27 wind mills total havent been started yet ?

i would say we are seeing average numbers of deer. not much buck activity yet but some scrapes starting to show up. i don't know how many windmills remain to be constructed but there sure are alot of them up.

Thought the DEC doe permit numbers were waaaaaaaay down for that area, when I looked.

They were the same as the last couple years or so .
We go down on the opener of rifle/shotgun .
Usualy a ton of rubs and scrapes .
Yes 25 now up and 2 going up soon ,,,AARRGHHH,,,,,
