Holy Cow!!! That's a lot of so-called hunters. I think sometimes we foreget just how important the DEC really is. Imagine if there were no one to over see these pochers and what the herd population would be like. I guess for every one they do catch there are 3 more doing the same thing though.

Next time you run into a CO, thank him for the job they do, they deserve it!

Legally, yes. But we didn't call it hunting. Some sort of crop damage permit my ex's uncle would obtain from the state for his farm in the early spring when the soybeans are starting to grow. Way too many deer. This was quite a few years ago. Don't know if it still done now. If you can't hunt legally and sportsman-like, then you shouldn't be allowed to do it at all. Burns me up.

Makes me think of all the sniper hunts we have here in central MD. Development has taken away a great portion of the deer's habitat, and yet bowhunters can't hunt most of the places the deer have been forced to hole up in. Consequently, private organizations that will provide "deer herd management" are hired to come in armed with nighttime hunting technology and clean them out in a couple nights. How ironic is that?
