I found your message and love the pulley system idea, I hunt some big deep hollows and you noted it took a couple of hours to get your deer to the top of the ridge, I was just wondering how far it was to the top, if I ever kill a deer in my location I will have about a 200 feet drag up hill to the top of the ridge. I have all of the necessary equipment and am looking forward to giving the pulley system a try. Thanks for sharing the information.

I too used to drag all day if that's what it took. Now I try to get help and if I can't use my atv I'll go back to the truck and get a snow sled. If there is snow pretty easy drag and if not it still slides easily.

Those sleds make a big difference. - jake |
I put a winch on my ATV, I have a breathing problem so my dragging deer days are over. If my deer is down hill and my stand is on the edge of a ravine and 2 out of three die in the stream at the bottom of the ravine, I run my winch cable close to the deer and put my drag rope around the neck and front legs and hook the rope to the cable hook and press the button on the handle bars till the deer is even with the machine and then hook the rope to the trailer hitch on the and and drag the deer till I can load it in the front basket of the atv. Then drive the deer to the rear of mu p/u truck and load it in.
