Spent the day scouting Saturday. Walked the field edges mostly looking for trails in and out...alot of corn planted this year ! Lots of good sign and a fair amount of damage in the corn! Checked some food plots I have planted as well...weeds have taken over some of them (note to self: mow the tops off and give the clover a chance )! Jumped a real good buck bedded on the edge of a corn field about 100 yards down from one of the clover plots! He was with 3 or 4 other bucks but I couldn' t take my eyes off him!

Sat afternoon, cruised by a property I hunt close to home and saw a bunch of absolute monsters! One I' m fairely certain will make Boone and Crocket with a few inches to spare ! About forty deer in the field, about a third bucks, with five bruisers! Road traffic pushed the big boys in about 7! Going back down tonight and get a fix where they come out excactly!

Just another 21 days! I' ve been out the past 2 weekends in the morning. Watching the sunrise and looking for deer around the Woodland Beach area. Didnt see much this weekend. A couple young deer. I did get my stand repaired and theres good sign in that area![:-] Just need a good wind.

I' ll be out the next few weekends as well weather permitting. ENOUGH RAIN ALREADY!!! [:@] The lower part of the woods I was scouting was mostly standing water. A good 6 inches deep in some spots.

If I see anything else, I' ll keep you all posted!

Went out this morning and looked around for a while. Didnt see much. Lots of sign and fresh trails, but I only saw 1 deer and he was out in the marsh. Then I went over to the leased farm and threw out some corn. Lots of good fresh sign in there [:-] Get a good wind on 9/1 and thats where my butts gonna be

Anybody else been out lately? The skeeters were out in force this morning! Didnt get bit once though. Gotta love that No Stinkin Bug spray!

16 days and counting!

DE-Hunter

I did see that post last year. Got him on the last day of gun season right? Nice deer! [:-]

Seems like the DE guys have been kinda quiet lately huh? Either havent been out or are keeping things to themselves Those deer hogs!

Anyhow, I will be out again this weekend poking around. I need to do some pruning in an area I' d like to place a ground blind for opening day. My father doesnt like stands much. Need to dump some corn and check out another bait sight. The last couple weeks have been slow sighting deer, but I' ve seen a ton of sign. Hoping for some cool dry weather labor day Morn!

I' ll post what I see this weekend Saturday or Sunday. 11 days and counting!!! []
