Take the precautions listed above. Although they ARE far more active during warm weather, they can be found during the colder months as well. Not too many years ago, I remember gun hunting in December and finding ticks crawling on me every time I returned home. I got Lymes disease in early Spring 1 1/2 years ago when it was still relatively cool outside.

The ol' man and I have tagged three so far this year, each one has had a few of the little buggers on 'em. I'm not freaked by many things...but just something about ticks makes me sick...they're such tough, ugly, useless pieces of mother nature.

I haven't had any ticks on my yet this archery season in PA. I have been once infested with them during Rifle. Ticks are problem year round in PA.
