Hi Chris,

Yup, I'm down in the Shapleigh neck of the woods. How about yourself?

Also, check out the posts by member Phil from Maine. He's posted a bunch of interesting and helpful stuff.

I first got hooked up here in 2006 when I got lucky in the moose draw and was looking for info. My youngest son got drawn this year, bull permit in District 3, so it kind of rekindled my interest to get reinvolved here. Lots of good info!

Now we have dust season and it has been a while up my way for any rain to amount to anything..LOL It has bee one heck of a summer for us up in this neck of the woods. Good thing we have a lot of lakes to run and jump in..

Yeah by the way Chris I am from Maine up in the Calais area. Although I am north of there a ways. Basically I live where few venture.. LOL

Very nice! Are you a member of archery talk also?

Phil from Maine 08-15-2010 02:11 AM

No I am not. I do archery hunt though and I try to get to Vinal Haven in October for a chance at a few deer. It is nice out there and I find the locals pretty friendly.

I have lived in Sanford for the last two years. Before that, it was nine years in Virginia. Before that forty six years in Western Massachusetts. Glad to be here. I always wanted to live in Maine. Now it's a reality. Will probably retire even further north in the real "North Woods". I haven't logged in here in a long time. Even my location still reads Chesterfield VA. I'll have to change that.

Welcome to Maine! :happy0001:

Thank you. Truth be told, I'm more of a shooter than a hunter although I do enjoy squirrel hunting. Are there any squirrels in Maine? :happy0157: I have a C&R license and a modest collection of military arms. Need to find some good places to hunt, camp, & shoot. I have the Maine Atlas & Gazetteer which is quite helpful. Maine's Public Reserved Lands fascinate me.
