Hu, I'm a liberal and a gun owner. What did I ever do to you? Keep your politics to yourself please. Why would a true liberal be against any personal rights? They wouldn't.

Bernie, thanks for the heads up but I din not find the petition. http://www.nysenate.gov/press-release/anti-gun-agenda

"HU" the topic is about liberal politicians infringing on our gun rights, mr "liberal gun owner", my political veiws are relevant. Do tell though, you being a liberal, you must have voted for obama, kerry, gore, and slick willy(assuming youre old enough), all democrats liberals, w/ anti gun agendas, yet you call yourself a gun owner. do you not support the right to own your own property? why would you sign the petition anyway? its the politician you help elect, that are doing this. sounds kinda foolish IMO.

" what did liberals do to you" Hmm lets see shall we?

because of NY liberals and the politicians they elect...

-I could not buy an inexpensive CAR A2 AR15 because liberal demoicrats say the bayonet lug, flash hider and collapsible stock are not legal so I had to search around for a more expensive modified AR15.
-I must bother 4 fellow county residents who are not related to me or to each other to go to a notary and sign my pistol permit application. then pay 107$ for the right to have the county, feds and judge take up to 1 year to give me a yah or nay to buy a handgun that I still have to submit to a NICS check to buy anyway!!!!!!!
-I have to put a stupid trigger lock on every gun I trasport to and from the range or my hunting spot.
- I can no longer buy guns or pistol ammo at walmart
-If I want to buy hi cap magazine they have to be made before 1994?????
-If some murderous hoodlum kicks in my door and bum rushs me and my family I am legally obligated to run out the back door instead of defeding my family and property w/ my 12ga!
-100$ for a NYS resident hunting lic.!!!!!
-now they want to put serial #s on the ammo!!!!!

on non gun related notes:
-250$ a pop to have a child out of wedlock!
-10K a year in prop taxes for a 1/4 acre and a 1200sf house in the boonies!
-high gas taxes (and prices)
-high healthcare taxes and premiums
-juice and soda taxes guntaxes taxes taxes taxes

List goes on and on and on.... GD NY liberals suck!!!!!

If you must know, son, I am a moderate and have split my ballet many times. What makes you think a liberal is a democrat? The current definitions of conservative and liberal are all f*%$ed up. There are no perfect parties or candidates. Both parties raise taxes both parties erode our privacy and rights. That is why the Bill of Rights is there and so very important.

Liberals as a group are just a big a group of hypocrites as conservatives and it is tearing the country apart.

Don’t blame anyone, vote, defend the constitution and support your fellow Americans. We are stronger together no need to fight from within.

Funny how it's the liberal nanny state programs that drive up the costs on so many things. By the way the Constitution and Bill of Rights limit what the Government can and can't do, but politicians from both parties have been using them to wipe their butts with and trampling on our rights.

which is it, liberal or moderate? youre already backpeddaling, and were just getting started.
What makes you think a liberal is a democrat?
of course they are, obama liberal/democrat, pelosi liberal /democrat, barny frank liberal /democrat, shumer liberal/ democrat, and on and on, see the pattern??? im not impressed w/ flip flopping moderates or independants either, just a bunch of liberals who pretend to have morals.
The current definitions of conservative and liberal are all f*%$ed up.
there is no grey area to me ,especially on gun rights, left is liberal ,the category you put yourself in ,right is conservative thats where I stand.
I There are no perfect parties or candidates. Both parties raise taxes both parties erode our privacy and rights.
bush did not raise taxes he cut taxes ,where do you think people have less taxes and more liberties, conservative states like texas, or moronic liberal ones like NY?
That is why the Bill of Rights is there and so very important.
you think obama cares about the bill of rights? all liberals care about is big govt control and the redistribution of wealth. oh I bet you didnt vote for him either huh? wake up, obama hates sportsman and gun owners, and YOU mr liberal gun owner, as you call yourself, put him there, thanks!

Liberals as a group are just a big a group of hypocrites as conservatives and it is tearing the country apart.
again YOU called yourself a liberal, not my words, yours.

sorry, but if liberals didnt vote for obama, mcain, although no bargain ,would be president and the world would be a much better place from where Im standing, especially for gun owners, and w/ out NY liberals, schumer, gillibrand and paterson would not be in office, and NY would be a much better place for sure. so of course I blame liberals.

The two anti gun bills that hurt us the most are the Brady Bill and Asault Wepons Ban.
Bradey was a republican and the vote shows a very mixed with both democrats and republicans. The Asault Wepons Ban (done under Clinton) has done nothing to change violent crime says the congressional report but Republicans alone wanted to extend the ban

In 1989, following the infamous Stockton, California shooting in which an assault weapon was used to kill 5 children and injure 29 others, President George H.W. Bush banned certain imported assault weapons and this led to the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban

The republican icon Ronald Regan supported the Brady Bill http://www.nytimes.com/1991/03/29/op...l?pagewanted=1

****I am not republican bashing just pointing out no one party is 100% pro or anti gun.

Both side are to blame, watch out for those “conservatives” too.

Assault Weapons Ban 2008 bill
H.R. 6257 was introduced by Mark Kirk [R Ill.-10] on June 12, 2008 and sought to re-instate the Assault Weapons Ban for a period of ten years, as well as to expand the list of banned weapons. The bill was also referred to the House Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, and Homeland Security on 7/28/08. It had four co-sponsors (as of November 5, 2008) supporting it:
• Rep Castle, Michael N. - [R Del.-1] - 6/12/2008
• Rep Ferguson, Mike - [R N.J.-7] - 6/12/2008
• Rep Ros-Lehtinen, Ileana - [R Fla.-18] - 6/18/2008
• Rep Shays, Christopher - [R Conn.-4] - 6/12/2008

Here is the voting on the Brady Bill
