RE: Gary Alt resigns.........
Well to all u PA guys i was liking the restrictions, at the farm we hunt we have seen twice as many nicer bucks so far this summer then in the last 10 yrs , but thats because we only took 2 buck , both of which were 4 on a siders. But i could of taken 4 or 5 different smaller buck but chose not to . so i liked the idea and hope that him quitting wont change the antler restrictions. But the WMU' s are stupid, there is no reason to have WMU' s, now its jsut a huge hassel to get a doe tag. And they never made clear what they are goin to do with teh special regs. areas like allegheny where u can use a slug or inline in extended for doe. I have already bought my license and there isnt anything aobut special reg areas in the book. But maybe we will get someone better then alt.

RE: Gary Alt resigns.........
Gotta disagree about WMU' s. There may not be as many as I' d like and they may take a bit of getting used to, but their borders are geographical instead of the old political boundaries so they are easier to define and relate far more to predominant terrain that plays a much bigger role in wildlife management decisions than county boundaries.

I think you' re right on the money. There are simply too many people who will not/cannot see the logic behind the new policies. Too many still carry the attitude of " that doe is next year' s buck" . It' s simple ... control the doe population to induce competition in the bucks thus allowing only the healthier/stronger bucks breeding rights. The important result is a population managed for HEALTHIER deer - natural selection through competition - and as a side effect you get bigger racks. I' ll go further and say that it wouldn' t be a bad idea to have an additional application for a BUCK tag, instead of an antlerless tag. But then again, I could care beans about number of points, simply because so many others go goofy for them. |
RE: Gary Alt resigns.........
I' ve noticed and increase in young bucks in the area I hunt this year and still see pleaty of does and fawns. I guess the sky didn' t fall as many predicted. As far as Rendell and Pennsylvannia.
Lets face it nothing is going to get better soon here in Pa. If you want a job paying just a little more than minium wage ,come to the Pocono' s were a " good " paying job is $11.00 and hour. LOL. Pa. has always lagged behind other Eastern states when it came to salaries even when we' ve had good times. As far as taxes , my property taxes have gone up 325% in the last 12 years with no end in sight. I' m on a fixed income becomeing disabiled thru no fault of my own and now that daughter has graduated high school ,will have to sell my house and move as my taxes have increase to a point I cannot afford anymore increases. |
