Hmmm. Hardly say thats relavent when a couple of our recent harvests were at FIFTY (not 15) year lows.
For example in 1986 1,166,771 hunters harvested 300,014 deer for a success rate of 26%
In 2008 936,892 hunters harvested 335,850 for a success rate of 36%

Wrong again. there is no way to compare the success rate in 1986 to the success rate in 2008 ,because in 1986 hunters were allowed to harvest one deer / year as I recall from memory. In 2008 hunters were allowed to harvest 1 buck and multiple doe and DMAP doe were not included in the harvest. therefore, it is mathematically impossible to calculate the success rate in 2008 compared to 1986.

Sorry but you are wrong. First i said nothing about 2008 though that too could be pointed to as a many decades low buck harvest....
2007--- 40,482 bucks were actually reported as harvested.... Comparing apples to apples because previously they didnt estimate they just counted the reported deer. Pgc provided us with that data for 2007 as well. Compare it and see how far back you have to go. lol. Im notgonna post every year forever..lol but for example in 1965 the harvest reported was over 65,000 bucks.
Wanna talk OVERALL harvest? Still have to go back 31 years to get one harvest reports lower than 124,569! Pretty funny considering that we can use so many tags and have a TON of increase opportunities today.
2008?? the numbers arent much better, but i dont have the actual number of reports by pgc so cant give specifics other than considering the around 40% compliance rate....they arent a whole lot better. lol.

1988 - Bonus deer program implemented statewide giving hunters with appropriate licenses the chance to take two deer in one license year. One of the two deer must be antlerless.

i couldn't be 100% sure myself just based on my memory and that is why i qualified my statement as based on my memory. But BTB wasn't that smart and challenged my position based on nothing more than hot air blowing in the wind.

I do agree that I did word it improperly. Seperate doe tags started 1984. The bonus tags were 88. I incorrectly typed it as if they came at the same time.
Regardless, your original claim was wrong. multiple harvests were possible before 86. one buck and one doe. bonus tags in 88 allowed as many as three and within a short time it was possible to legally harvest four.
BTW, your saying (edited) wasn't necessary and is probably outside the forum rules. If you can't be civil, perhaps you should refrain from posting till your temper cools off.
