Ct. Hunters

are there any connecticut hunters on here and what towns would be a good start and that have a good deer population? any input would be greatly appreciated.

I have a good friend who lives near Kent Falls SP on route 7 and he gets bucks every year that make my mouth water. It seems every buck he gets is bigger than any I ever got. It's private land but people give him permission. He doesn't invite me up to deer hunt but he let's me moose hunt his property in Vermont so I don't complain.

There is a very good population of deer all over CT. You will need to get out and do some scouting in areas that have access to food, water, cover etc.
We get deer every year on state land.

I hunt southeastern Ct., Stonington and North Stonington. There's a healthy deer population. Private land permission is tough but there's a good amount of state land.

Stonington is about an hour from Cabelas. Natchaug State Forest is a lot closer to you and has plenty of deer.
