Here are a couple of bucks capture within 100 yards of the rub last week. I'm thinking the big tree rubber is bigger than these dudes.

That 6 point is a brute. What an old deer. Great to see these guys holding onto their antlers for so long.

Wow, that 6 is a bruiser. Before I die I just want to kill a whitetail with a body that large. I'm not so much gunning for huge antlers as I am a monster whitetail.

Good luck with those bucks.

I saw an article earlier this year about whether keeping antlers too long in the winter will effect their growth the next year. I didn't read the article (saw it on a news stand) so I'm not sure what the conclusion was.

WestVirginiaBrent: Look at him next to this doe. And here's another one when he was at his fattest this year

Barnes...I know that early shedding can be a sign of either a) a widespread mast failure in an area where the deer depend heavily on mast, b) significant stress incurred throughout the breeding season, or c) injury. Essentially, very early shedding is usually an indication of very poor physical condition. So I would hypothesize that late shedding is, at the very least, not a bad thing.

That buck is an absolute BEAST. What a trophy. I would be gunning for him next year, he has to be flirting with the 7-8 yr old range. Hopefully he dosen't regress further into a 4pt that wouldn't be legal to harvest.

Considering his size and age, that big six could very well be the culprit that made that rub.

He looks dangerous though. I dont think you should risk life and limb pursuing him by yourself. Let me know if you need backup

Here's an 8.5 year old that barely made the 3 point antler restriction. On the decline for sure.
