I wonder if there will be a early M/L/ season this year in lower and western part of the state?:violin:

Pgymy, why you enjoy hearing bowhunters whine?? I'm tired of hearing others whine about bowhunters! But if you kept up on NYS Hunting, you'd know NY Bowhunters joined with NY Muzzleloaders, and came up with a proposal for the DEC at the last public meetings held. The proposal was for a early primitive MZ season in the South!

Semi primitive - still allow percussion sidelocks.
Flintlock only like Pa would keep the numbers from impacting the bow season too severely - but I still don't see the need to split up the gun seasons. Bow season is not split by trad and compound. If they want to split the guns, keep it in the gun season.

I will be happy I only shoot flinters nice to tag my flinter along with my bow.:woot:

I wasn't whining, just making a statement based on observations from years of grass roots involvement in local and state conservation organizations...

I must admit I've been less involved the last few years...

Isn't the proposal for the southern zone early BP antleress only?

Pygmy, No problem. Its not hard to get cynical at times these days. Not sure about your other issues though!!!:s2:
Sometimes we bowhunters whine for good reason. What hunter wouldn't be upset over woods time taken away, or wanting more time if possible. I think sometimes its only the Southern Archery season thats looked at, and the Northern is often forgotten. Some seasons N. archery only gets 1 full wknd on the new license. The 2nd/last wknd is combined with the Muzzle opener. Its also strange that 10 eastern states open archery before 9/27.
