Sterling Forest

Does anyone have any info on Sterling Forest?

Like how the hunting is....a good starting point to jump off....etc...

I hear the place is pretty good, with plenty of big racks.

RE: Sterling Forest

Hey--we used to hunt Ringwood State Park which borders the park on the NJ side. Ringwood has some good bucks but is a tough place to hunt due to the terrain and low deer density. However, every year someone bags a nice old buck but usually during shotgun. They have good maps and the rangers are very helpful.

Sterling has about the same deal but gets a little more hunting pressure during NY' s rifle season. There is a site called NY Deer hunters which has a guy that hutns there and does well. He is always looking for company and will give advice.
