Maine bear trapping

Has anyone on this site done any bear snaring in Maine?
As far as I am aware this is the last of the lower 48 states where it is legal, the trapping has been pared down to cable snare only as of this last season and I'm certain the antis will have a go at that soon enough too. Think I'll try it next season before it's gone forever and I'd like to hear from others whom have done so in the past.

I too am from Pa. go to Alan Probst Outdoors and click on TV clips pg 2 for a 4 part video of his Maine bear trapping adventure. He used a steel leghold trap which was banned from use for the 2009 season.
I have booked with Bountyhunter Guide Service for the week of Oct3-9 2010 to try to snare a bear. I've killed several with bows and firearms but never snared/"trapped" one.

I do not but do know of a few that has.. The snare is a steel cable that is made to hold a bear by the foot. It is designed to just hold the bear without giving it much injury as it has a locking device to keep it from getting to tight on the bear. I have heard that they do in fact leave a large area all clawed up when one in a snare is encountered.
