Wow. Your point?

bluebird2 That may be your opinion , but there is no way you can determine the length of those points based on the pics provided.
I'd say they all make an inch long! :s4: That last one might be two inches long? That last one is a dang nice one their bub.

livbucks Wow. Your point?
One silly centimeter off.:s5:

There was a couple of real nice bucks there. And it looked like they were from areas not historically known for bucks of that quality. Could it be the AR's?

sproulman 12-11-2009 07:05 PM

yes,AR is causing it.HR is also working.AR should go farther on 3 points for all of us in wmu2g and HR went to far.both should be corrected .we know what is wrong on both and pgc should do more.they did close doe hunting for first week of buck in wmu2g.
its not enough.

I would like to see 4 points statewide, with a spread exception for anything under the minimum. In other words: see a mature 6 point, and he has a 16 inch spread, you can take him, but he better be 16 inch outside spread at least. Then they could sell an AR exception license that is good for one buck that does not meet minimum AR standards, but has 3 points on a side, every three years. The cost could be $30-$50 bucks but you are limited to only one every three years, and they can be purchased within 24 hours of a mistake kill.

I kinda like the either or concept Greg but do you think it would ever be feasible statewide? We're 7 years in and some people are still having trouble with a point count. I actually ran into a guy last year in the ANF that still thought a 3" spike was a legal
buck:confused2:

Kinda like that exception thing too but each subsequent one after the first should double in price

keep kid exemption on under 3 point AR rule for kids first year at 12 yrs old, then you will see MORE large horn bucks and also hopefully put a stop to what is happening with what i mentioned on crews driving.
but of course, they will find a way around playing by rules.it just makes me very mad what i know is happening.

No, all of those bucks were AR legal a year or two before they were harvested. Reduced hunting pressure is producing those big buck, not ARs.

Apply for the next training class , spend 50 weeks at the Academy, Then you will know all about it.

Its not hard to understand, Common sense and good judgement apply when enforcing the law. If every law was enforced to the letter everyone would be getting a ticket for something, (56 in a 55 mile an hour zone)

I measure from the beam just as they do for measuring trophys. If its close the hunter gets the benefit of the doubt. Would you be happier if I slammed everyone for being 1/32nd of an inch short?
